Our old Stompin' Grounds

Adam and I flew down to San Antonio (our old stomping grounds) for an Army Medical Conference last week. It was great because while Adam was at the conference, I just walked down to the Riverwalk every day...and did a little unsupervised shopping! I did a little sight seeing too. I loved it because everything was within walking distance from our hotel, so I could go back there if it was too hot and go to the pool and layout.
Both our families came to visit as well! We had a blast! We visited the Alamo, took a riverboat ride on the Riverwalk, went to Sea World, and stopped by Fort Sam Houston. That is where Austin, our nephew, fell in love! He admires Adam so much and wants to be just like him when he grows up. So, while we were at Ft. Sam, we bought Austin a little Army uniform! He was so cute, always asking Adam about being a soldier, and if he captured all the bad guys when he was in Afghanistan. Adam taught him how to stand at attention and how to solute. For the rest of the trip Austin never took off his new uniform.
Unfortunately, I flew to San Antonio on a standby ticket, and trying to get back to North Carolina was difficult. Fortunately, my family lives up in Dallas and I drove back home with them! And, on the way back we stopped for a little more shopping in San Marcos! It was also Father's Day, so we went to a nice Mexican Restaurant to celebrate!
The whole week turned out awesome! It was a great start to our summer!
