Planes, Strawberries, the Dogwood Festival, and a lovely sunburn!

I now have an official farmer's tan! Adam and I kept ourselves busy all day in the hot, hot sun. It all started with Ad's flight instruction in Sanford this morning. I thought it would be fun to tag along with him! It was really exciting to listen to the pre-flight instruction and inspect the plane for take off...but then we had to part ways as he started the engine and rode down the runway. I got a few shots during instructions and his ascent into the big blue sky. His plane looks so little up there!

Following Ad's flight, we went to a strawberry patch out in the country and picked some fresh, plump strawberries! We had a great time walking up and down the rows picking the best ones we could find! I can't wait for dessert tonight! We're having angel food cake with homemade ice cream...and STRAWBERRIES! If you've never picked your own strawberries, I highly recommend it! They are delicious!

As we drove into town, we discovered the Annual Dogwood Festival in downtown Fayetteville. All roads to downtown were blocked off for this weekend event. Among all the traffic and cars, we managed to find the best parking spot...right up at the front! We had a great time walking down the street filled with vendors and coming upon the Budweiser Clydesdale Horses!

What a great day! Now I've got to do something about this sunburn!
